Azeroth has witnessed the great barrier between the Alliance and the Horde for years. Now, after more than ten thousand years, an ancient continent reveals itself. Mists of Pandaria is the fourth expansion of the World of Warcraft following the success of Cataclysm which was launched about two years ago. In this new expansion, an ancient realm called Pandaria is revealed. Its complex ecosystem untouched by the spiraling war between the Alliance and the Horde suddenly takes center stage. World of Warcraft enthusiasts now have access to new features, new areas, and a new race hidden under the mists of Pandaria.New Race – The Pandaren
The Pandaren, a race hidden for over a decade, resurfaces as the once impenetrable mists reveal the haunted continent of Pandaria. This is the first time that a neutral race is introduced and players choose between being part of the Alliance or go with the Horde only when they reach level 10. A Pandaren has five racial abilities that would come in handy regardless of whether they choose to be a Shaman, Warrior, Rogue, Hunter, Priest, Mage, or Monk. The Monk is the new selectable class for the Pandaren as well as other races.
New Zones
Mysts of Pandaria introduces new areas full of a rich ecosystem and traversed by exotic creatures. The Asian-inspired landscape features eight zones and dungeons. The Wandering Isle, a giant turtle named Shen-zin Su, which is moving along Azeroth’s shores, is the starting point for all players. The new level-up zones are the Jade Forest and Temple of the Jade Serpent for levels 85 to 86, the Valley of the Four Winds and Stormstout Brewery for levels 86 to 88, the Krasarang Wilds for also for levels 86 to 88, the Kun-Lai Summit for levels 87 to 89, the Townlong Steppes for levels 89 to 90, the Dread Wastes also for levels 89 to 90, and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms for level 90. In this new expansion, the Alliance and the Horde each has their own player hub.
Pet Battle System
The Pet Battle System is a new feature in the Mists of Pandaria. Not only do players have the luxury of collecting pets, they can also enter them in friendly duels against other players’ pets. Players can acquire a pet in three ways: purchase them, get them as item drops, or by capturing them from the wild. Pets also gain experience and level up just like their Pandaren owners. A player can train its pet to achieve new skills and abilities to make them tougher in every pet battle that they fight in.
New Challenge Mode
The World of Warcraft encourages team spirit. The Mists of Pandaria gives team players a chance to be rewarded by participating in Challenge Mode. When a team decides to enter a dungeon in challenge mode, they have to eliminate all enemy bosses they encounter in the shortest time possible. A team that successfully accomplishes this is rewarded with gold, silver, or bronze medals depending on the time it took them to kill all enemies in the dungeon. More rewards are also unlocked as team players earn more medals. Mists of Pandaria gives players a fun and rewarding experience unlike anything before.
